Janet (Allman) Goss

Janet Allman Goss, 71, of Freetown, died at 6:10 PM on March 25, 2015 at her home.

She had worked at Brownstown Middle School as head cook and she was the housekeeper for Earl and Pat Hobbs.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. She had served as Church Treasurer  for 50 years, was Church organist, Sunday School teacher, Allman Twins singing group.  She enjoyed gardening and cooking and spending time with her family.

Born March 31, 1943 in Jackson County, she was a daughter of J.C. and Vesta (McCory) Allman.  On April 16, 1961 she married Chester Goss, Jr and he survives.

Other survivors include: 1 daughter: Rebecca Jane (David) Williams

1 granddaughter: Hannah Jane Williams

1 great granddaughter: Adison Jane Williams

1 brother: Maurice “Beech”   (Mary) Allman

1 sister: Jean Allman Pogue

Janet was preceded in death by brothers Marvin “Bub” Allman, Thomas Allman, JC Allman, Jr., her parents, and her grandson Nathan Allan WIllliams.

Funeral Arrangements

Visitation: Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 2-8 pm at the Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown.  On Sunday, family & friends may call at the funeral home after 1:00 pm.

Funeral: Sunday, March 29, 2015 from the funeral home at 2:00 pm.  Rev. Jean Pogue will officiate with burial at Smallwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Easyville Church of Jesus Christ.
